Nice. I love it when stuff like that happens. I think the Venn Diagram of people who like Dominion and people who like this blog probably has a bigger overlap than you'd expect from a random distribution, but still...pretty cool.

I'm totally flabbergasted by this entry.

I found your site a year or so ago while looking for a song on Hype Machine, and I subscribed because I liked your commentary and your taste in music.

But I'm also a big Dominion player, and I'm on isotropic at least an hour a day, so to see the author of this blog I sorta randomly found mention out of the blue that he was the winner of the DS.com tournament...I don't know, it just totally fries my mind.

I guess in the telling it doesn't seem like it's as big of a coincidence as it feels at the moment. Whatever, this comment is starting to feel like when someone describes a dream to you. I guess what I should be saying is congratulations on your win! That's really impressive!

And thanks for continuing to post well-written entries, accompanied by great songs, all this time. I really enjoy your blog.

I've had the exact same reaction to every major policy discussion for the last two years.

I'm starting to suspect that the best thing we can do as the left writ large is actually behave like foaming at the mouth socialist revolutionaries, so that everyone else will remember what that looks like.

when i think of music i wish we'd get a hold of, i still think of her. sometimes i'm glad we haven't and sometimes i wish somebody would suddenly surprise me and maybe play a track of hers on the radio. i have listened to the "a curious thing" album as well and i like it but i haven't gotten a hold of it. it was a preview on an international flight i took and i enjoyed it very much. i love the first track especially. there's something very vulnerable about her and i relate to it wholly. i was looking to play this track in full and found you through the hype machine.

I do like the idea that Santorum "benefited" from being so unviable that no one would ever consider voting for him until everyone else had actively dropped the ball.
