Saw Okkervil River last night at the Middle East in Cambridge. It was ridiculously good – potentially the best show I’ve seen in my life. It was one of those magic convergence sort of evenings since we showed up without tickets to a sold-out show, stood around trying to find someone to buy tickets off, finally got one at face value and then an attractive, friendly Australian woman walked up and just gave us a second one for free. So I got in to see one of my favorite bands playing one of the best shows they’ve played for a grand total of 6 bucks.
Tonight, we’re heading out to Northampton MA to see them again. Will post in a little more detail about the show(s), and finally get around to talking about The Stage Names when I get back home on Thursday.
